The medical team of flight nurse Missy Ice and flight paramedic Alex Stringer recently competed at the Air Medical Transport Conference Sim Cup. The team, from the Effingham, Ill., Air Evac Lifeteam base, placed third in the international competition.
The Sim Cup is an annual critical care skills competition, and utilizes the latest in patient simulation. Twelve teams compete head-to-head to showcase their medical skills in real time. Air Evac Lifeteam holds a company-wide human patient simulator skills competition each year, to prepare the medical teams for the AMTC Sim Cup. Missy and Alex won the Air Evac competition in 2016, and were selected to compete at the AMTC Sim Cup in October 2017.
